Providers at ZXM
Meet The Team
Patrick Abel PA-C
I grew up in Ogden, Utah. I attended Gonzaga University where I received a BS in Biology, and has since become a PA through Idaho State University. I currently works for Dr. Zach Morairty at ZXM Psychiatry in Twin Falls.
Inspired by my time working in wilderness therapy, I have extensive experience working with teens. I also work with adults with a variety of diagnoses, including bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, schizophrenia, dementia, and addictions. In my practice, I do medication management, CBT/DBT counseling, and ketamine assisted therapy.
I grew up spending much of my time outdoors with my family, both in Utah and Idaho. They have been on countless river trips and I worked as a river guide in Stanley for five summers prior to becoming a PA, where I fell in love with Idaho. I also enjoy backpacking, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and backcountry skiing. He lives in Hailey with his fiance and new pup, Zuko, and daughter due in January.

I am accepting new patients for Telehealth Services with weekend and evening availability.
I am a Veteran and have worked with Law Enforcement communities and can treat the unique complexities that veterans and first responders may be struggling with and provide confidential care. I am passionate about working with clients who have struggled with substance use, trauma, and depression and need to improve their coping skills to manage life's stressors.
My work history includes working in outpatient and residential drug treatment programs providing trauma informed therapy and medication assisted treatment, as well as addressing underlying mental health conditions that one may have coped with by self-medicating with substances.
I would love to connect with you if you are wanting to end the cycle of suffering that addiction has caused, or are ready to make a plan for change to address your mental health needs.

As a parent, it can be challenging to see your child struggle or experience difficulty thriving in their element. There can be many questions including whether or not there's an issue to address or if treatment is necessary. If you're asking these questions, it can be incredibly helpful to take the next step and seek care and advice.
I've been treating children and adolescents
(ages 6-17) with psychiatric needs for 7 years within the Magic Valley. I love building relationships with my clients and their parents, providing education about mental health care, and helping them grow mentally and emotionally. We'll discuss the appropriate plan for them including medication and non-medication options.
As a Magic Valley native, I take pride in providing psychiatric care to our community, and it's a true privilege being able to provide care to our youth. Please contact our office with any questions or to schedule!
Christina Scanlan PA-C
Passionate about psychiatry and able to provide a comprehensive evaluation to identify individualized treatment needs which may include evidence-based psychiatric pharmacotherapy, lifestyle medicine or movement medicine to help improve overall wellness. I spent ten years in the Twin Falls region doing psychiatric medication management in a variety of settings, before I returned to my hometown Erie, Pennsylvania, and I have a strong connection to helping those in Idaho via telemedicine. My goal is to visit and be available in Idaho during the year. Currently I teach at Gannon University PA program and enjoy working with young adults daily in an academic setting. I earned my Certificate of Added Qualifications in Psychiatry and love teaching to the next generation of PAs about mental health.
My specialty is late adolescence-in a typical brain this can be 18-21year old, but in a neurodivergent brain adolescence can be until age 25 years old, and this can be hard time to navigate. I am passionate about helping young adults navigate early adulthood to maximize their potential for achieving goals and dreams. I am available for youth starting at age 12, and for adults through age 50. If you are a parent or caregiver, and feeling you need to start or refresh your mental health journey, you are struggling with addiction, or struggling with a new adjustment, please reach out. I am here to help. Connecting to people at a time of need is my gift.
